Venue
All races will take place on the River Weaver, starting and finishing at Runcorn
Canoe Club, Clifton. Located 0.5 miles from M56 J12, (OS Ref526798). Sign posted from Motorway.
Classes
A Race – Div 1-6 K1 will race the 10km course with 1.5 minute handicap per division. Mass start.
B race – Div 7-9 K1 will race the 5km course with 45 seconds handicap per division. Mass start
Fun Race for all non racing style kayaks and canoes. **Lightning Race for U12’s in Lightning class boats)
Course
Divisions 1 – 6 10km, (no Portages, 4 turns),
Divisions 7, 8 & 9 5km, (no portage, 2 turns),
Lightning Junior Race 2km, (no portage, 3 turns),
& Fun Race subject to entries.
All courses are on slow moving river / navigation canal.
Fees
A & B Race £3.50 per seat, (50p discount for Under 18’s)
Lightning Race £2.50 per seat
BCU Day tickets available on day at £3 for non BCU members.
BCU Membership not required for Fun Race and Lightning Race
Rules
The Race will be run under the rules of the British Canoe Union, (BCU), Marathon Racing Committee.
Starts & Check-ins
Starts will commence at 12:00 prompt (13:15 for Fun Race & Lightning's).
Check-in 09:30 – 11:30.
Briefing will take place 11:35
Prizes
To winners and runners up in every class, plus prizes for top senior and
junior paddlers subject to numbers.
